Cheshire Butterfly Conservation Fund1st Biannual Training Day for recipients of the Cheshire Butterfly Conservation AwardThe Fund was established in November 2001. with the sole purpose of awarding annual memberships of Butterfly Conservation to wildlife rangers, wardens, etc. (mainly in Cheshire) in recognition of their contribution to butterfly and moth conservation whilst carrying out their daily duties. The Award comprises the following;
The fund-raising target is £15000, which will enusre 90 awards per year for the next 10 years or so. Currently there is sufficient funding to enable 40 Awards to be presented. The first Training Day will be held on Thursday 8th May 2003 and will include the presentation of Awards and guest speakers' presentations. Butterfly Conservation's Regional Development Officer for North England, Dr Sam Ellis, will be delivering presentations on butterfly identification, recording and transect monitoring and habitat management, and National Wildflower Centre Senior Project Manager, Richard Scott, will be giving a talk about the 'creative conservation' practised by Landlife. |
