Behaviour: Perch/Territorial

Wingspan: 26-40mm

Caterpillar food plant: Common Sorrel (Rumex acetosa) and Sheep's Sorrel (Rumex acetosella)

Cheshire status: A common and widespread resident normally recorded in small numbers, although significant fluctuations occur in populations from year-to-year. Double-brooded at most sites and occasionally continuously brooded during favourable weather conditions. Breeds on Common Sorrel and Sheep’s Sorrel in a range of habitats.
